Recycling (or not) Amazon packaging

Interesting article here on the impact of Amazon's packaging.  A few data points:

* - Amazon estimated in 2019 that it contributed 44.4 million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent - more than FedEx, UPS or Apple

* - Sims Municipal Recycling, a firm that collects most of New York’s recovered cardboard, reported: “Corrugated cardboard—the kind boxes are made of—is almost half of the curbside recycling stream today. It was just 15% of curbside recycling 15 years ago.”  as we reviewed in our last blog here,  much of this cardboard appears to be recycled.

However, what about recycling plastic bags from Amazon?   The overall plastic bag recycling rate was an anemic 9% according to the EPA.
